ANAEROBIC NATURAL COFFEE FROM EL SALVADOR

El Carmen Estate is located at 1300m above sea level in El Salvador’s Apaneca-llamatepec mountain range, one of the Central America’s prime specialty coffee producing areas. The estate has been farmed by the Alfaro family for over a century.  El Carmen lies in the heart of El Salvador’s main ‘protected highway’ of forest, a part of the mesoamerican Biological Corridor System that stretches all the way from Mexico down to Panama.

What to expect in the cup:  El Salvador is famed for its sweet coffees and this anaerobic natural offering is no different. The cup opens with bright, colourful and juicy tones of lychee, before developing into a boiled-sweet or Haribo-esque sweetness, with tropical vibes lingering throughout. As the cup begins to cool, a rich blood orange character emerges, bringing vibrant citrus tones that see the cup through to a long, refreshing finish.
