Kendal Festival of Food & UK Coffee Week

Mar 16, 2014

UK Coffee Week LOGO 2014 o_lUK Coffee Week takes place this year between the 7th and 13th April 2014.  I suppose the event has two main purposes.  Firstly it’s a bit of a celebration of all things coffee, and is another excuse (if we ever needed one) to sit down and enjoy a coffee with friends.  Secondly, the event aims to highlight the issues surrounding access to clean water in some coffee growing countries, specifically Tanzania.

During UK Coffee Week many thousands of pounds will be raised by Project Waterfall which, working in conjunction with Water Aid, aims to improve access to clean water for communities in Tanzania – find out more here.

We’ve just received a delivery of coffee from Tanzania, Blackburn Estate Pick of Harvest, which we’ll be making available in the run up to UK Coffee Week, and we hope our customers will get involved by serving the coffee in their establishments.

kendal-festivalAt the end of March we’ll be at Kendal Festival of Food (29th and 30th March) and will be using this opportunity to promote and raise money for Project Waterfall.  We’ll have a pop-up coffee shop on the street, complete with seating to rest those tired legs!  During the weekend we’ll be serving a full menu of espresso based coffees from the familiar latte to the less well known piccolo.  And here’s the deal:

We’re giving away coffees in return for a donation towards Project Waterfall.  Come and join us throughout the weekend, enjoy a coffee (or maybe two) and help us raise money for Project Waterfall.

Taste CumbriaOver the weekend you’ll get the chance to try our Blackburn Estate Pick of Harvest but if you can’t wait, it’s available to buy through our website:

As well as serving amazing coffee we’ll have a programme of ‘events’ throughout the weekend including our signature drink, brewing demos and a latte art challenge.

We look forward to seeing you in Kendal!
