The Carvetii Pop-Up Espresso Bar

Sep 17, 2013

As I type this post, Angharad is busy roasting a batch of our seasonal espresso blend.  This batch is going to remain at the roastery for the next 10 days or so after which it will be nicely settled and ready to be served on our pop-up Espresso Bar during this year’s Taste Cumbria Event.

Taking place on the 28th and 29th September 2013, the Taste Cumbria Food Festival is a celebration of everything that is good about Cumbrian produce and once again we’re thrilled to be involved.  This year we’re setting up an espresso bar on the street, with a La Marzocco Linea espresso machine taking centre stage.  Throughout both days we’ll be serving a range of espresso based drinks from a smooth and creamy cappuccino to the more intense piccolo.

We want as many people as possible to enjoy our coffee over the weekend and therefore we won’t be charging for any of the drinks we serve.  Instead we’ve decided to support a local charity and we’ll be asking for donations towards Eden Valley Hospice – the idea being you pay as much as you think the coffee is worth!  The pressure will be on to make sure we serve the best coffee possible each time, although we’re pretty confident our espresso will shine through.

Joining us on the espresso bar will be some of our wholesale customers.  They’ll be making coffees with us, promoting their establishments and some will even bring along their own signature drink.  More details of who’s taking part to follow next week.

So if you’re thinking of visiting the festival, make sure you pop over to our stand to enjoy one of our delicious coffees, roasted just three miles outside Cockermouth.
